Too much screen time harms brain development
Nowadays, most families have access to Internet through TV, iPad and smart phone. Children, as a result, may spend many hours watching videos or playing on these devices, which harms children’s brain development. Recent studies show that cognitive skills, language skills and executive skills are badly damaged due to long screen time.
Parents and teachers should pay attention to these consequences because they may have negative long-term effects on our young.
Too much time spend on TV and electronic devices will deactivate the brain. In fact, the geeky parents such as the late Steve Job, Bill Gates and Cuban have been conscious of this negative side and they have been very strict with their children on how much screen time their children can have.
Seriously, electronic devices can turn the brain off if we use them passively. Our young are the most vulnerable.
